Checking the status of a criminal case in Dubai
To check a criminal matter, first identify the authority handling it and the reference assigned to that stage. A complaint reference, prosecution file number and court case number may serve different purposes. Use the information shown on your notice or case documents.
An online result is a starting point. It may not establish the complete procedural position or the action required in response to a notice or judgment.
Start with the case documents
Keep copies of notices, correspondence and any judgment. Record the case number, year, type and authority as they appear on the documents. If the matter has moved between authorities, retain the earlier references as well.
Use the relevant official enquiry
Consult the Dubai Public Prosecution or Dubai Courts service appropriate to your file. Check the scope of the service and follow its current identification and access requirements.
A service designed for one category of case should not be treated as a search of every criminal, civil or immigration record.
If a search produces no result
Check the reference, year and selected category. Confirm that you are using the authority responsible for the current stage. A missing result does not conclusively establish that no matter exists.
Interpreting a status entry
A status label may need to be read alongside a notice, hearing record or decision. Do not infer that no action is required merely because an entry appears unchanged. Keep a dated copy of the result and seek clarification from the relevant authority or your lawyer.
How we assist
We can review your documents, identify the questions that require an official enquiry and explain the significance of the information obtained. Representation and access to records depend on the authority’s requirements and the scope of the instruction.
Criminal proceedings are addressed in the UAE Criminal Procedures Law. For a broader introduction, see criminal-case enquiries in Dubai.
Request advice on your matter
Provide a brief account, the case reference if available and any stated hearing or response date. Request a consultation to discuss the documents and next steps.
